Learning from the U.S. and Australian Jewish experiences

By Michelle Shain

Congratulations to our Senior Fellow, Adina Bankier-Karp, on the publication of her report entitled A tale of two communities: Comparing the Pew Research Center’s Jewish Americans in 2020 with the Gen17 Australian Jewish Community Survey!

The research was supported by the Australian Jewish Funders. We are grateful to them and to all the Jewish organizations around the world who invest in research and pursue evidence-informed policymaking. As Adina wrote in the introduction of the report:

It is sincerely hoped that this comparison enables both communities to learn from – and with – one another about how to support Jewish thriving and flourishing in the diaspora.

There is also short summary of the report for an American audience, “Carob trees and deep roots: Self-understanding as a product of considering others.”
